Rockstar Games has announced Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, a special presentation scheduled to premiere on Netflix on Thursday, August 27. The showcase will give fans a more substantial look at GTA 6 before its release on November 19.
The Netflix premiere begins at 12pm Pacific, 3pm Eastern and 8pm in the UK. Viewers in Central Europe can watch from 9pm. Netflix subscribers can already set a reminder through the programme’s listing on the streaming service.
Rockstar has not confirmed the length of the presentation or provided a detailed breakdown of its contents. The decision to call it an “extended look” instead of Trailer 3 suggests it will be presented differently from the two cinematic trailers released so far.
Netflix Viewers Get Six Hours of Early Access
Netflix will have the presentation exclusively for six hours. It will then appear on Rockstar’s official YouTube channel and website at 6pm Pacific and 9pm Eastern on August 27.
That means viewers in the UK will receive the free YouTube version at 2am on August 28. In Central Europe, the presentation will become available at 3am.
Anyone without a Netflix subscription can therefore watch the full showcase without paying, but only after the six-hour early-access period expires.
What Rockstar Has Confirmed:
- The presentation is called Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look.
- It premieres on Netflix on Thursday, August 27.
- Netflix receives six hours of exclusive access.
- YouTube and Rockstar’s website will carry it later that day.
- GTA 6 remains scheduled for November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Could This Be the First GTA 6 Gameplay Presentation?
Rockstar has not explicitly described the event as a gameplay reveal. However, the extended format gives the company room to show more than another edited collection of story scenes and character introductions.
The first two trailers revealed Vice City, Jason, Lucia and several locations across Leonida. Rockstar has also released dozens of screenshots, but fans have yet to receive a traditional gameplay presentation explaining how the game works.
With the launch now only a few months away, August 27 would be a natural moment to demonstrate missions, driving, combat, exploration or character switching. Any expectation of gameplay should still be treated as speculation until Rockstar confirms the programme’s contents.
GTA 6 Marketing Is Entering Its Final Stage
The announcement arrives after GTA 6 preorders opened in June. Early estimates suggest demand has started strongly, despite debate surrounding the game’s $80 price and Rockstar’s decision to use download codes instead of discs in physical boxes.
Rockstar now has less than three months to show players what separates GTA 6 from its predecessors. The August presentation could become the first major step in that final marketing push.
Whether it contains raw gameplay, a narrated demonstration or a longer cinematic preview, Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look will be Rockstar’s most important GTA 6 presentation since Trailer 2.
