In every mainline GTA game, cheat codes exist to add chaos, convenience, or pure fun to single player gameplay. They do not help with story progression, unlock missions, or replace core gameplay, but they allow players to experiment freely with the world.

Historically, cheats let players restore health and armor, unlock weapons, reduce wanted levels, spawn vehicles, change weather, and trigger exaggerated effects like super jumps or explosive combat. GTA 6 is expected to follow this same philosophy, especially since Rockstar continues to separate single player freedom from online balance.

Based on GTA IV and GTA V, GTA 6 on PS5 is expected to support two cheat activation methods.

The first method is classic controller input. Players rapidly enter a specific button combination using the DualSense controller during gameplay. If entered correctly, a confirmation message usually appears on screen.

The second method is via the in game smartphone. Starting in GTA IV, Rockstar allowed players to dial phone numbers to activate cheats. GTA 6 features an even more advanced phone system, so this method is very likely returning.

While the exact number is unknown, history gives us a strong estimate. Earlier GTA games featured anywhere from 20 to over 90 cheats, depending on scope and design goals. GTA V launched with 34 cheats, focusing on quality over quantity, and avoided features like money cheats or tank spawns.

Given GTA 6’s larger scale, deeper systems, and next gen focus, it is reasonable to expect a similar or slightly expanded list compared to GTA V, with classic cheats returning and possibly a few surprises.

Although none are confirmed yet, the following cheats are highly likely based on previous titles. Players can expect cheats that restore health and armor, refill special abilities, give all weapons, lower or remove wanted levels, spawn cars, bikes, boats, and helicopters, change weather and time of day, enable super jump or explosive melee, and possibly activate invincibility for a limited time.

One of the biggest open questions is the return of a money cheat. Rockstar avoided this in GTA V to preserve progression balance. GTA 6 may follow the same rule. Another unknown is whether tank spawning returns. Older games allowed it, but GTA V removed it entirely.
